Who will arrange my cellar conversion plans and planning permission?

You can relax and let barrett kent draw up your plans, consult & appoint structural engineers and liase with the local authoritys for all planning permissions and building regulations.

Can I see a completed basement conversion?

Of course! It will be our pleasure to show you a recent or on-going cellar conversion at the home of one of our many satisfied customers.

Will I need planning permission for my cellar conversion?

Most basement conversions will not require planning. Most new basements, where the size of the new construction is significant and/or where there will be visual changes to the outside of the house, will require planning. If you have not employed an architect then we are happy to take you through the planning stage of your basement conversion.

Will my basement conversion be dry?

Absolutely. There are several advanced methods of waterproofing. These include tanking and cavity membrane systems involving sumps and pumps.

Will my cellar conversion require underpinning?

This will depend on the depth of the existing foundations. Underpinning involves excavating beneath the existing foundations, one section at a time and filling with concrete.
